Maria Krivenski

Maria Krivenski’s initial studies were at the Verdi Conservatoire in Milan and the Musik Hochschule in Munich. Her postgraduate studies were at the Royal Northern College of Music and Goldsmiths College, University of London, where she completed an M Mus with distinction for performance. Her teachers have included Sulamita Aronovsky, Imogen Cooper, Paul Badura-Skoda and Lev Naumov.

She has been a prize winner in many international competitions including J.S.Bach and Pierre Lantier (Paris), and was winner of the selection for the International Piano Festival of Brescia and Bergamo.

As a recitalist she has appeared throughout the UK, Germany, France and Italy and made her debut at the Aldeburgh Festival in 1997. She is on the staff at Goldsmiths College and has made a special study of the piano music of Schnittke. She has performed at Goldsmiths regularly, appearing in recital with cellist and Schnittke biographer Alexander Ivashkin in 2000 and with Joanna West (violin) in the International Centre for Russian Music recital series in January 2001.

As a concerto soloist she has played Mozart K453 (Angelicum Orchestra of Milan), Beethoven 2 (Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra of Milan), Gershwin (RAI Orchestra of Milan) Saint Saens’ Carnival of the Animals (Munich Hochschule Orchestra) and the Schumann (Goldsmiths).
